Renovation, Boat Harbour

What we did

It needed TLC, but the owners of this beach shack in Boat Harbour saw the value of its timeless location and the breezy lifestyle it promised.

What was originally a run down, decrepit 4 bedroom house is now a luxurious 5 bedroom holiday home that accommodates four growing families.

The challenges faced on this build predominately revolved around the proximity to the ocean. The existing brickwork was unstable and had to be chemset in and all new exterior products were specific to ocean style living. Other obstacles included hitting a large amount of rock on commencement of footings for the extension. The lack of phone and internet service in the area was very challenging for communication onsite. The existing house was out of level and had to be completely re-leveled. But all in all the build was a very successful and drama free build that both the builder and owners are very happy with.

The owners wanted an entertainers delight with a coastal feel, which is exactly what they’ve got. With the large living areas, the addition of a games room, the children’s bunk bedroom and the large deck and bbq area, the property caters for the four families and more quite comfortably. With the selection of Blackbutt flooring, aqua tones throughout and shabby chic interiors the coastal vibe is evident and you can’t help but feel relaxed in what was a dream build.
